Resources

Some new resources thanks to the Edible Schoolyard and Center for EcoLiteracy:

  • A National Food Policy for the 21st Century : A memo to the next president
    • Outlines a NFP
    • Calls for edible education
  • As Congress considers the reauthorization of the child Nutrition Act, Civil Eats publishes an editor’s note surveying the school food landscape.
  • The Center for EcoLiteracy partners with National Geographic for Big Ideas: Linking Food, Culture, Health, and the Environment A New Alignment with Academic Standards
    • Aligns concepts with recent academic standards
    • Includes samples of student engagement
  • Going to be honing in on EcoLiteracy by reading two books that I have titled:
    • Ecological Literacy: Educating Our Children for a Sustainable World (Stone and Barlow, eds.)
    • Eco Literate: How Educators Are Cultivating Emotional, Social, and Ecological Intellegence (Goleman, Bennett, and Barlow)
